Pregame festivities on Thursday night

If you haven’t heard so already, it sounds like there is going to be a lot of interesting things going on before Thursdays game against Jacksonville. I believe many thought PETA would be present with protesters against Vick (I’m not sure if there has been a definite announcement or if it is just expected). However, it has been announced that the NAACP will be having a supportive rally for Vick. I think that with all the negative talk about Vick lately that it is nice to see some support, although I’m not exactly sure if their presence is necessary/appropriate.
I will be in attendance tomorrow night and am going to show up a bit early so I can check out what’s going on outside of the stadium. It should be interesting to see if the two groups end up in the same area and if any words/punches are exchanged. I’m not really sure what to expect.
Tomorrow I will post more of what I am looking to see during the game itself as I believe the team has a lot of things to prove. Make sure to check back tomorrow!

Not to sound snarky, but where was the NAACP to support Donovan last year when he was under seige w/ fans? Their support polarizes the Vick issue into a black fans vs. white fans issue, IMO.

I agree. It’s one thing to support the guy but what you said is the exact reason I commented that I didn’t know if their presence was necessary/appropriate. I have just recently seen headlines saying that the Pro-Vick rally by the NAACP may be called off. I will keep an eye on this and update appropriately.
