Jeremiah Trotter’s not so triumphant return

I was just over on IgglesBlog.com and they have some good video breakdowns of plays where Jeremiah Trotter was in the game.
I don’t know if it was just me, but if you weren’t looking for him, you really couldn’t tell Trotter was on the field on Sunday. To be honest, the only time I really noticed him on the field was in that first video clip where he takes a poor angle and gets stiff-armed. Other than that you can see he was getting pushed around and failing to get off blocks. There is also video of Omar Gaither from Sunday and he played quite well.
So is Trotter shaking off the rust? I think that might be a fair thing to say. However, I hope he doesn’t take too long to get back into top shape. The Eagles have a stretch of very important games coming up soon and they can’t afford to have anyone who isn’t playing to the highest of their ability. Fortunately, the Raiders are terrible so Trotter should be able to get plenty of work in against them. There is also a Redskins game in two weeks that can serve as the final tuneup before the big showdown with the Giants.
If Trotter is going to make an impact for this team, he is going to have to start playing at a much higher level.
