Well we are finally to the point in the schedule that many people, including myself, were looking forward to. When you saw the early part of the schedule you saw there were no early challenges besides the Saints in Week Two and figured the Eagles should come into this game at 5-1 at the worst. After a thrashing from the Saints and a huge setback against the Raiders, the Eagles come into this game at 4-2 but there isn’t much you can do about that now.
With two consecutive losses, the Giants are in a position where this game has even more at stake. Both teams will enter a matchup Sunday with two losses. Both teams come off two performances that were not the level they should be and will look for redemption. Sunday’s winner will stand on top of the division, and although it’s still early, everyone wants to be on the top looking down.
This is a perfect opportunity for the Eagles to gain confidence within themselves and make them look like they are the team to beat in the NFC East. If they want this; however, they are going to need to play like a totally different team then we saw in the past two weeks. Looking at the Giants film the last two weeks, they are going to be able to see what they need to do to beat this team. The question is going to be whether they can execute and actually do it.
This team is being given a huge opportunity this Sunday and they need to take advantage. I know they have what it takes to win and are going to have full support behind a home crowd on Sunday. The matchup on Sunday is going to prove a lot in the NFC East, and I absolutely cannot wait to see how it plays out.
