The weekend has passed and this is the first Monday in a long time that we have no upcoming Eagles game to look forward. Saturday’s game against the Cowboys was as big an embarrassment as the shutout loss from the week before.
Donovan McNabb failed to step up and couldn’t even complete a pass until the second quarter. He had a terrible QB rating on the day and just failed to look like a quarterback capable of leading his team to victory. The Birds struck right back after Dallas went up 7-0 on a 76 yard touchdown pass from Michael Vick to Jeremy Maclin but then allowed the Cowboys to rip off 20 straight points and take a 27-7 lead into halftime. This completely deflated the team and basically stood no chance in the second half.
So now the Eagles season is over and we’ll start thinking about obvious offseason questions. Will Donovan McNabb be back next season? Will Brian Westbrook? What do the Eagles need to address most in the draft? How can they be competitive with the Cowboys?
It’s going to be a long offseason, but there will be plenty to think about.
