I don’t think the Eagles have any plans to make him the starter. They’re a pass first team and his style of play doesn’t suite their system all that well.

However, I do think he’s a great backup to have. Should be interesting to see how much Wildcat we see in 2010.

McNabb is a great quarterback but we all know he has a problem with winning the big game. Losing back to back games to end the season against Dallas wasn’t fun to watch either. I believe it is time for change. Get someone or something good for McNabb and keep Kolb and Vick. Personally I think signing Vick was the best thing that happened to the Eagles. Vick has tremendous talent and I believe he is the key to this offense. I think a lot of damage can be done if Vick comes back healthier, stronger, and faster. Vick can take this team to the big game for sure. Especially with such high talented receivers: Jackson, Avant, Curtis, Maclin. Can’t wait for next season. E-A-G-L-E-S!!!!!

Well it looks similar to what happened with Favre and Rodgers in Green Bay. Some can look at it like that or maybe McNabb is Elway but i think its time for a change for sure. He has had 11 years. Enough is enough. Birds went 0-5 against playoff teams this year so really how successful was this year Don?

I totally agree with you.

You gotta feel bad for Kolb. He’s sat on the bench long enough and hasn’t kept his mouth shut. When asked to play this year he performed at a high level. Let’s see what the kid can do.

Well everyone can argue both sides on the mcnabb issue however there is just 1 major factor that can not be overlooked. He is completely void of that innate quality to be a man who can lead other men. He has no inspirational qualities and continuously does not rise to the level of the moment. He has a world of talent but at crucial points in a game its your heart that will see you through. Mcnabb just doesn’t have it, and I feel he should be sent on his way. Kevin kolb deserves a shot he’s paid his dues and we need to find out if he has that fire in his gut mcnabb has never shown. Also his accuracy in the pocket can’t get any worse than mcmoron.

I think there’s plenty of teams that would take McNabb, it’s just a matter of whether the Eagles would get an offer they would take. If McNabb did go, it would be interesting to see what would happen. Would Vick stay? Who would start then? Vick said he wouldn’t mind being a backup in Philly again although he’d prefer to start. However, I think he would have an ego problem if he was forced to backup Kevin Kolb. That’s a lot different that backing up McNabb. I think the Eagles will shop all three quarterbacks this offseason and take what they can get.

One thing for certain is that all three won’t be back. Vick likely the one to be gone. Making $5 Mil next season isnt likely to sit well with the cap of the Birds. Maybe the birds get a 3rd rd draft pick from the raiders. So then it comes down to Kolb or McNabb. I have always supported McNabb but honestly i cant take it anymore. The season has never ended with McNabb playing well minus the Arz game last season. Clearly Kolb wants to start. I think McNabb staying has to do with what the market is for him. So that would mean if we want him out, lets hope Favre and Warner retire. Time will only tell

This is true Greg. We have experienced a lot of success over the past decade. It’s hard to think there can be a transition at the QB position without some sort of downfall. However, this is not a city that enjoys losing. I think that’s what makes the decision so hard.

I agree with the face that we have a lot of young talent but Donovan had a whole season with them this year. Maclin was forced to play more than expected due to the injury to Kevin Curtis and showed he has plenty of potential. When Kolb got to play with those weapons, he went over 300 yards both times. In an offense that is pass oriented, you need your most accurate passer in there. This very well may be Kevin Kolb.

No doubt D5 still has gas in the tank. He is an amazing talent, no one can deny that- but does he still have the fire and drive to take this city to a championship? I think it may be time for a breath of fresh air- not only for Philly, but also for Donovan. He’s been under plenty of scrutiny, and we as Philly fans can wear on even the toughest competitors.
What I can’t live with is when the birds are down 2 scores and a closeup shows Donovan flashing a smile, or when one of our young receivers runs the wrong route, number 5 throws his hands in the air in disgust. The quarterback is the face of the team, and has to know when to show passion and when to show composure.
All this being said, if the Eagles do make a move, Philly has to be prepared for the dreaded “building year”. Can we deal with that?
