I have improved with each week. This week I’m going for 16-0. What’s that? Bye weeks. Nuts. I’ll settle for 14-0. Doubt I’ll reach that level but it’s fun to dream. A fun fact about this week is that 8 of the 14 games are divisional match ups. That’s gonna make for a great weekend of football. Now, let’s get to it.
Jets @ Bills – I remember saying I see the Buccaneers being the worst team in the league this year. I’ve changed my mind. The illustrious honor of being the worst team in the NFL this season is and will continue to be owned by the Bills. This week will prove no different. The Jets will roll, improving to 3-0 in the division. Rex Ryan will also begin planning for the next three Super Bowl parades.
Bengals @ Browns – Paging Carson Palmer. The Bengals can be an elite team if you’d remember how to play at least decently. You don’t even need to play great, just play well enough to justify having your jersey worn by the fan base. There is no reason the Browns should win this game or even be in it but they will be in it until the bitter end because that’s how the Bengals roll. Gonna be tight but the Bengals will pull it out (Insert a Chad Ochocinco sex line joke here).
Ravens @ Steelers – This was the hardest game of the week for me to pick. The Steelers offense hasn’t faced a great defense yet. The Ravens offense has been mostly stagnant all season (which I still can’t fathom). This game is literally a toss up for me and I’m gonna go with my Super Bowl pick and stick with the Ravens. If Big Ben had been able to keep it in his pants then I’d be going with the Steelers. Charlie Batch isn’t good enough though.
Broncos @ Titans – Think of the college matchup that could’ve been amazing. Tim Tebow VS. Vince Young. Two guys that just win. Oh man, it would’ve been awesome. Too bad that has no value in this game since Tebow is the third stringer and the Broncos are lousy. Meanwhile the Titans got their act together last week against the Giants and they’ll continue to do so this weekend.
Lions @ Packers – The Packers will not lose this game unless they manage to somehow cram another 18 penalties into 60 minutes of football. Seriously, that is a penalty every 3 minutes (kinda). That’s just bad man. It won’t happen again. I think. I hope. My pick is banking on it. Packers win? Packers win.
49ers @ Falcons – I will not fall for the 49ers tricks again all season. I will not. The Falcons, however, showed me a lot of things last week in their upset over the Saints. The Falcons will steamroll the 49ers as Mike Singeltary’s seat begins to get a little warmer. Maybe by a few hundred degrees. Celsius.
Panthers @ Saints – I refuse to believe the Saints will be beaten twice in a row at home by division opponents. It also helps that they’re facing one of the few winless teams in the league. It helps a lot really. If I didn’t hate Jimmy Clausen and Steve Smith I might feel bad for the Panthers. As it is, I kinda hate them so I look forward to seeing them get crushed by the Saints.
Seahawks @ Rams – This was another tough one to pick. The Rams took a huge step forward last week against the Redskins and the Seahawks have been up and down during the first three weeks. I’m gonna side with the Seahawks but I might change my mind. If I do change my mind I’ll be posting it in the comments section like I did last week.
Colts @ Jaguars – Colts win. I have nothing more to add.
Texans @ Raiders – The Texans will get back on track this weekend against the pitiful Raiders. I still don’t understand the decision to bench Campbell but it’s another case of the Oakland futility. The Texans will have a field day but I don’t expect Andre Johnson to have a great game going against Nnamdi Asomugha. That’s easy for you to say.
Cardinals @ Chargers – If it’s raining I’m gonna go with the Cards. Okay, not really. I’m going with the Chargers no matter what because the Cardinals are that pathetic. How they scored so many points last week is beyond me. The Chargers need to win this game and they will.
Bears @ Giants – The Giants are masterful at playing with their backs against the wall. The Bears are lucky to be 3-0 and not 0-3. I don’t think the Giants are a good team but there is no way they let another team embarrass them in their own house. No way at all. The Giants will be focused and they will abuse the vastly overrated Bears.
Patriots @ Dolphins – Another great game at hand here. I have to go with the dominate offense here with the Patriots. I’m certainly not completely confident with this pick but I know one thing – It’s gonna be a great game.
Last Week: 10-6
