Two weeks in a row that I’ve decisively outpicked the so called experts. It’s time to get even hotter. The league is starting to make more sense and it’s about time. Week 13 begins tonight with the Texans and Eagles facing off on Thursday Night Football and as always I am here to preview and pick all the games around the league! Big question – Which is the game that I’ll completely miss? I don’t know, you tell me. Let’s hit it!
My picks will be in italics.
Saints @ Bengals – The Bungles are on an 8 game losing streak. That is the worst in the NFL. The Saints are beginning to get their mojo back and something tells me this will be the week their defense gets back on track when it comes to forcing turnovers. Well, in this case they’ll be gift wrapped by Carson “It’s Christmas All Season Long” Palmer. Give me the Saints on the road.
Bears @ Lions – If the Lions were healthy I’d be going with them 100%. But, fact is that they are not healthy. The Bears erupted on offense last week on offense (much to my surprise and dismay) and the Lions let one slip away at home against the Patriots. To makes matters worse the Lions will likely be putting their third string QB out there. Give me the Bears on the road.
49ers @ Packers – The 49ers crushed the Cardinals on the road and forced Derek Anderson to give one of the all time great press conferences. The same won’t be the case this week. The Packers are coming off a very close loss to the Falcons on the road and there is no shame in that. The Packers aren’t elite but they’re far better than the 49ers, who prior to facing the Cardinals, have been awful on the road. Give me the Packers at home.
Broncos @ Chiefs – The Broncos just got beat at home by the Rams who had been struggling on the road all season. Now they need to travel to Kansas City to take on a team whose offense is clicking on all cylinders and will be looking for revenge from the previous meeting. A sneaking feeling tells me that this game will not end well for the Broncos. At all. Give me the Chiefs at home.
Browns @ Dolphins – I’m taking the Dolphins as of now because I don’t know who Cleveland will be starting at QB. Should Colt McCoy return to the lineup I’ll probably switch this pick. However, if it’s Jake Delhomme there is no way I’m picking the Browns. This dude nearly gave the game away to the Panthers. I could single handedly beat the Panthers (in Madden). As of now, give me the Dolphins on the road. As always, if I change my picks I’ll note it in the comments section.
Bills @ Vikings – The Bills are the best 2 win team I’ve ever seen. Why? They have no quit in them. That is what separates them from a team like the Panthers. The Vikings are currently going under what I’m calling the “Dallas Syndrome” where they will play a little better because of the coaching change. The spark won’t last too long but it will help them this week. Give me the Vikings at home.
Redskins @ Giants – The Giants are not a great team. Healthy or not. The Jaguars gave that game away in the fourth quarter last week. Luckily for the Giants they’re facing a really bad Redskins team. I’m almost starting to feel bad for McNabb. Almost. The Giants know the importance of this game and so does McNabb. That’s why I’m taking the Giants at home.
Jaguars @ Titans – The Titans are miserable. Why couldn’t we have faced this version of the team back in week 7? Seriously, this is stupid. The Jaguars should’ve won the game against the Giants and I bet they’re steamed over the final results. The Titans are floundering weekly and it baffles me. Here’s how weird this season is – The Jags are in first place of the AFC South. Give me the Jaguars on the road.
Raiders @ Chargers – The Raiders will be starting Jason Campbell again this week (glad to see Tom Cable is listening to me) but I don’t think it’s going to make a difference. The Chargers are in December mode (aka when they don’t lose….at all) and the Raiders are in December mode as well (aka when they don’t win….at all). The Chargers are steamed over the previous matchup in which the Raiders snuck out a win at home. Give me the Chargers are home.
Rams @ Cardinals – The Cardinals stink. The only entertainment they’ve provided for us all season is that priceless press conference by Derek Anderson (I don’t care if this is the second time I’ve mentioned it in this article). The Rams are going to the playoffs. Remember, you heard it here first and several times since. The Rams finally got the win on the road that they’d been looking for and now they get to face one of the worst teams in the league. Give me the Rams on the road.
Cowboys @ Colts – No way Peyton Manning gets embarrassed two weeks in a row at home. He’s also facing one of the worst ball hawking defenses in the league. The Cowboys proved last week that they aren’t quite there, despite the “wonders” that Jason Garrett had been “working.” The Colts will not lose this game and that’s because Peyton Manning suddenly has a big chip on his shoulder. Give me the Colts at home.
Panthers @ Seahawks – The Seahawks’ playoff hopes will remain alive because they get to take on the worst team in the league at home. The 12th Man will finally have something to cheer about. I’m on record in saying that the Panthers won’t win another game all season. How they won just one game is legitimately beyond me. Give me the Seahawks at home.
Falcons @ Buccaneers – The Bucs are a team on the rise but until they beat a team with a winning record I’m not buying them all the way. The Falcons, I am buying. Completely. Especially at home. But, they are on the road this week and I think the Buccaneers will play them close. But the Falcons will close out this game by the end and come away with a win. Give me the Falcons on the road.
Steelers @ Ravens – The prime time weekend games couldn’t start off much better. This is one of the best rivalries in all of sports and I can’t wait to watch. In their last meeting the Ravens had a last minute TD drive to win the game. Now they face a Steelers team that has Big Ben back under center. At the same time he is lining up behind a very weak line. The Ravens just know how to win close games, however. Give me the Ravens at home in what will be one of the games of the year.
Jets @ Patriots – We end the week very strong! Yet another great rivalry game. The Jets took the last one, with an explosive second half. The Patriots are very good (great honestly) but they aren’t invincible. They can be beaten on defense and as a result I’m expecting some big fireworks in this game. At the end, I cant bet against the Patriots in their home stadium. This will be a great, physical game, but give me the Patriots at home.
Last Week: 12-4
