If you said the Eagles would have won the NFC East division and hold a home playoff game in the beginning of the season, many people would have said you were crazy. If you said Michael Vick would have resurrected to be a Pro Bowl quarterback again people again would have said you were crazy. The truth of the matter is that even after a frustrating home playoff loss, the Eagles outperformed their expectations this season.
The Eagles skilled players of DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, and LeSean McCoy all made significant strides this season. The Eagles have a quarterback that has a never say die attitude and will keep them in every game regardless of the score. The Eagles offense set a record for points this season and gave us plenty of thrills. Who would have thought at the start of the year the Eagles would set a franchise record for points scored?
The future is certainly bright for this young team but major changes also must be made with both the personnel and coaching staff.
All season long this team was faced to overcome injuries at major positions. Injuries are certainly a part of the game, but at the end of the day the Eagles were asking two 7th round draft picks on defense to stop the Packers dynamic offense. You can only ask so much out of these young players. The Eagles’ personnel struggled all season, but Vick was able to put the team on his back all season long and turn a rebuilding year into an NFC East title. In my opinion, this season was successful and fans should be excited for the future of this team.
