The Eagles have been busy today, signing nine undrafted free agents, while working on a deal for Kevin Kolb, dealing with contract extensions for Desean Jackson and Michael Vick, trying to sign their draft picks, and negotiate with potential free agent target’s agents. The Eagles have their work cut out for them, so lets here what is going on with the team today.
Some notables among the undrafted free agents that the team has signed are Miami RB Graig Cooper, Florida punter Chas Henry, and WR from Indiana Terrance Turner. Expect Chas Henry to be the only one of the bunch to compete for a roster spot.
As for Kevin Kolb, he is still an Eagle, and may be for a couple more days, as the Eagles are being patient, trying to maximize what they can get in the trade. Seattle and Arizona are the front runners, but he is expected to go to Arizona for Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, and a pick. The latest is that Jason la Canforna the NFL Network is reporting that the Eagles want a first round pick and Dominique Rogers Cromartie for Kolb. The Eagles have announced a trade will not be announced today.
Jeff McLane of the inquirer had a source that told him that Seattle may have jumped in as the front runner for Kolb. The Cardinals may have to up their antee to get Kolb, and that may include a first and Rodgers-Cromartie.
DeSean Jackson will be holding out according to multiple speculations. He wants big money, and will force the Eagles to give it to him by not showing up to camp.
Michael Vick has said that he would love to sign with the Eagles to an extension, and he is expected to fairly soon.
The Eagles have spent a great deal of time scouting quarterback Vince Young and may make a push for him according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
Nick Barnett has claimed that the Eagles are among 4 or 5 teams that he would like to play for after being cut by the Packers.
Reggie Bush is seeking 15 touches per game, and the Eagles cannot provide that. Also, Jerome Harrison is seeking a starting role, but with all the tremendous running backs available, is may be hard to find a team to guarantee that to him.
