The Philadelphia Eagles have done it again, shocking the world by signing Nnamdi Asomugha to a 5 year deal worth $60 million. After days of speculation saying that Nnamdi would be a Jet or a Cowboy, the Eagles were the darkhorse all along.
Minutes before the deal was announced by Adam Schefter via twitter and later confirmed by Jay Glazer of foxsports.com, NFL network announced that the Cowboys and Jets have dropped out of the deal. Who will Nnamdi go to, we all thought, I was sure it was Tampa Bay. It turns out, it was the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles just strengthened arguably their weakest position by acquiring Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
In related news, Asante Samuel has been missing training camp due to “personal reasons”.
