In the third round, the Eagles drafted Bennie Logan, a defensive tackle out of LSU.
Scouts have mixed emotions on him. He has a strong upper body and has played very well at times. However, he is known to lack a ton of consistency at times.
Logan stands 6-3 and 295 pounds and it seems that he may be the type of player the Eagles like could he could show a lot of versatility. With his stature, it looks like Logan could potentially line up in both the middle and the outside. Regardless, there is no clear cut spot for him so I think the Eagles will like the options that he creates for them.
The Eagles approach on defense should be very interesting this year. They’ve looked to acquire a number of players who fill a lot of holes they have. Along the defensive line, they’re looking at a very different system that they’ve had in the last few years. It seems like they’ve taken the approach where they’d rather not lock any player into a particular position. Instead, they are bringing in players who could potentially fit into a number of different positions.
Logan seems like a guy who may need an extra eye on him to ensure that he stays focused. However, he looks like the type of player that can have a big upside if he performs to his full potential and plays that way consistently. I think the Eagles have a coaching staff in place that will be able to get the most out of him.
