First take everything I said in the last blog, shine it up real nice, turn that son of a b… if you don’t know how the rest of it goes then we probably wouldn’t be very good friends. Let’s revisit our reasons of concern and see if we can’t help each other put the bottle down.
1. Drew Brees
While he is a great quarterback and having a good year, the majority of it as at home. Awkward Birthmark Brees lead his team to a 3-5 road record and scoring 10 points per game less on the road. And I don’t know if anyone’s looked outside recently but it’s not exactly pleasant, and Drew cant seem to win outside his no so Superdome. We all saw what happened to Peyton at the Razor… guess who else lost there too? Brees did. Moreover he’s about 5-2 and our D’line will be in his face.
2. Jimmy Graham
Still got to make sure he’s the first guy you account for but is certainly containable. Three teams this year were able to put him in da bathroom, the Niners, the Rams, and the Cowboys. Dallas had the worst defense in the league and held him in check.
3. Passing to the RBs
This is what keeps every Saints running back up at night…
4. The Saints have the 4th best defense in the league
Let me tell you something you probably did know. The Eagles have the second ranked total offense in the league, and the number one rushing team in the league. Mr. Canton, Nick Foles, is going to feast on these guys with play actions and shoulder pumps. Also I’m expecting Rob Ryan to have a heart embolism gorging himself at Pat’s and/or Geno’s and not make the game.
5. The New Philadelphia Complex
We’re from Philadelphia and we fight! We have the most loyal phanbase in all of football. Yeah we bitch sometimes but it’s only because we care. Our home game this week sold out in three minutes; the other ones might be blacked out. We finally have a coach who is one step ahead, instead of one behind. Howie is drafting his Matzo balls off and bringing in real talent. Chip turned a 4-12 team into a divisional winner and one of the more scary teams in the playoff picture. Any given Sunday the Eagles could hang 42 points on a team.
It’s going to be a hard fought game, but I think the Birds pull it out in a close victory.
Birds roll on the ‘Aints and win handily.
