Keyshawn Johnson, in an interview with 97.5 The Fanatic, felt it was more than necessary to give the Chipper a “C” grade for his coaching job this year. When asked why Johnson said: “Because he started off slow. He thought that his offense was going to work to the point of no return. It’s been OK. It hasn’t been this eye-popping… we’re all of a sudden gonna change the way that football is played on the professional level. It hasn’t done that, and I think that was the expectation.”
Glad to see Keyshawn could step away from his neighborhood feud with the Biebs (which he’s losing) to put in his two cents on the soon to be coach of the year’s season. You’re absolutely right Keyshawn, he did not change the way the game is played. It must have been a new defensive strategy to fake injuries to buy time to get players on and off the field because they are sucking wind. And the NFL must have planned to reach out to every coach telling them that they will not accommodate to a constant speed style of play outside of two minutes, before Chip came on.
The game has changed Keyshawn. You are just missing the big picture. Seattle, San Fran, Philadelphia. This is the future; it’s not going to happen overnight. I will say that in about six to seven years there will be less than 10 defensive “guys” as head coaches. That’s where the league is going, it’s all about offense. Throw time of possession out the window, we’re scoring points why you don’t stop me. Chip Kelly’s ideas are the future Keyshawn don’t turn your back on the future.
I’ll give Keyshawn credit, he is an entertainer. He’s paid to get people to talk about him, and in this instance he’s succeeding. No one of sound mind could honestly say Kelly earned a “C.” He took a 4-12 team to a divisional title; I don’t care how bad the rest of the division was. The Eagles landed in the top three for a hand full of offensive categories, with a team that wasn’t his. Yes, we had an early exit but from where we’ve come from, it certainly warrants much more than a “C.”
A part of me is happy that it was you that spurned the Birds and Kelly. Mostly, it’s because I think more often than not he’s wrong. I swear every time I bet a game and you pick the same team as me, it’s already an instant loss. The “Keyshawn Kurse” its called. Guy couldn’t pick his nose without a computer telling him how to do it.
Hero’s get remembered, but Kelly’s legendary offense will never die.
